Virtual: Community Action Night
Details
What is Open Fresno?
Open Fresno is a fiscally sponsored nonprofit working to put civic oriented, open source technologies to work, in service of our local community. We truly believe that the government can work, for the people, by the people, in the digital age if we all help.
So, come join us and get involved in civic innovation!
What are we doing?
We have partnered with a fellow nonprofit, Code for Sacramento, to share a virtual space in ZEP. In this meeting you’ll be able to learn about our core teams, active projects, and project teams. You will also be able to improve your current skill set or build a new one, by working on any of our available projects. If that doesn’t interest you, we are more than willing to read or hear any pitches focused on making a positive impact in our communities.

Who should come?
- New members welcome. We’d love to have both people who’ve been with us before AND new people.
- Many roles are needed. We want people from many different roles/backgrounds: developers, designers, user researchers, product managers, communications professionals, and other roles.
- Wide experience range wanted. We want people who are more experienced AND less experienced. We often have a range of skill levels at our events.

Does it cost money? Or will we get paid?
Nope! Our events are free, and nobody gets paid for this work. This is a volunteer organization.
We coordinate on Slack – Join Us!
The Code for Sacramento Slack Workspace is where we communicate, since we share project work. Here’s how to join:
- Use the invite link to join.
- Make sure to say “Hi!”, in the #general channel, once you get there.
- Join the #of-open-fresno channel, to meet other Open Fresno members.
