The Aggie Square innovation campus on Stockton Boulevard and Second Avenue in Sacramento will start construction in the coming weeks after a celebratory groundbreaking Wednesday kicked off by UC Davis Chancellor Gary May and Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg.
Local, state and federal elected officials participated, along with leadership from Wexford Science + Technology, the project developer; and community activists who worked to ensure the $1-billion project would benefit residents in the surrounding zip codes.
