Security Risk and Compliance Specialist

This position is Hybrid and eligible for telework up to five (5) days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under direction of the Information Technology (IT) Supervisor II the IT Specialist I in the Department of General Services, Enterprise Technology Solutions,within the Information Security Engineering domain, the Security Risk and Compliance Specialist is responsible for various tasks related to security policy development, security control analysis, security risk management, security awareness, and security incident response. The individual in this position will work closely with the security team and other stakeholders to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization’s information assets.

Training and Development (T&D) assignments may be considered for this position. T&D assignments are temporary assignments made for the purposes of providing career advancement opportunities to prepare permanent civil service employees for future promotions into new occupational fields.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment. The Department of General Services does not participate in E-Verify for employment authorization purposes.
