Job Description and Duties
This position will run until filled with the following cutoff dates for application review: 10/15/2025 and 10/30/2025.

Effective July 1, 2025, The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee shall receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits, monthly. The salary range(s) included in the job advertisement do not reflect the 3 percent reduction in pay.
California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) is seeking a skilled and motivated Cloud Engineer to join our growing Cloud Services unit. This position will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure across both Azure and AWS platforms.
As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of cloud-based systems that support key investment IT services and AI initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that align with CalPERS’ strategic goals, while leveraging emerging tools and technologies to optimize performance and efficiency.
As part of a growing team, the Cloud Engineer will contribute to the maturation of a sustainable service support model that meets the evolving needs of the Investment Office and CalPERS. Your work will directly impact critical functions such as cloud security, cost optimization, and service delivery, ensuring the success of investment initiatives and AI-driven projects.
