SUMMARY:Boosting your DBA skills with Generative AI ~ Warner Chaves
DESCRIPTION:***Please Use Source Link Below to Confirm Event Details*** \n  \n\nDetails\n\n\nWHEN:\nWednesday\, November 13\, 2024\, 1700 GMT \nDESCRIPTION of TALK \nTitle: Boosting your DBA skills with Generative AI \nThe advent of Generative AI (GenAI) is revolutionizing the way we work and database administration is no exception. DBAs are integral to managing and maintaining critical data infrastructures\, ensuring data integrity\, performance optimization\, security and more. Oftentimes\, one DBA can be in charge of hundreds or even thousands of databases! \nGenerative AI has the potential to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of DBAs by automating mundane and repetitive tasks\, such as cataloging of data\, generating documentation\, improving query quality and more. By leveraging GenAI\, DBAs can shift their focus from routine maintenance to more strategic activities like longer term planning\, data architecture and advanced analytics. \nIn this demo-heavy session\, we will provide an intro on GenAI tools and concepts and then dive into applications and use cases for DBAs using tools like GitHub copilot as well as simply making use of ChatGPT.

SUMMARY:Demystifying Agile Industrial Complex: Errors & Omissions with Scaling
DESCRIPTION:***Please Use Source Link Below to Confirm Event Details*** \n  \n\n\n\nDetails\n\n\nBad scaling is one of the biggest ‘agile problems’ of modern days for companies – and one of the three most expensive mistakes companies make when they set themselves on a wrong ‘agile course’. The other two are “agile tools” mania and falling a victim to big consultancies “industrial model” – see/play David Snowden’s view HERE. \nBad scaling comes in the form of trivializing agility at its core\, weakening agile roles\, plagiarizing and relabeling someone else’s experiments and calling them ‘operating models’\, copy-pasting Scrum and Scrum roles into Fractal Geometry that look great on paper. \nAre there better ways to work? Probably not\, if the ultimate goal is to relabel existing enterprise complexity with fancy agile terminology and then call it “enterprise scaling”. But there could be better ways to work if an ultimate goal is to simplify existing complexity (de-scale)\, and by doing so improve your chances to scale agile ways of working. \nIn this session\, GENE GENDEL will expose some classic pitfalls of bad scaling and will recommend how more things could be done better and in different ways than companies do today. \nAudience can expect some ‘aha’ moments\, and walk away with a deeper understanding of system thinking and a fresh perspective on how to maintain relevancy in the current marketplace for agile. \nGene Gendel is an organizational design consultant\, adaptive and lean coach and trainer\, and independent adviser to senior leadership. Gene is also a co-founder of KSTS Consulting\, the only company in the United States that has credential of a Certified LeSS Coaching Company.
